Abstract

The objective of the project is to develop a thermally efficient 5-Axis Vertical Machining Centre capable of performing 5-Axes simultaneous machining to produce components used in the Automotive, Aerospace, Die and Mould, Energy, and Medical industries.

The following outputs are desired from the project:

  1. Thermally efficient 5-axis machine tool with simultaneous machining capabilities.
  2. High precision drive unit for rotary milling head
  3. Integrated milling spindle
  4. Thermal compensation system for 5-axis machine tool
